First Full Day Home...

What a blessing to be able to sleep in the same bed again and enjoy a full today together today. We woke up together this morning and enjoyed time chilling, doing devos, watching "Bella", the Eagles, and then our first trip in public!!! Gracie pushed the cart as we walked around the local CVS looking for all the little goodies we don't typically carry with us but need now. Like trash bags and tape for Gracie's feet in the shower so her wraps don't get wet.

She is doing great, ate good today and mom is in the kitchen now stirring up some "Sue Malone's Chicken" is what the Geberts call it, my family calls it "Ant Head Cassarole" :)

Gracie wants to say THANK YOU for all your prayers and care, she is watching me type this, what a joy and blessing!!!

Continue to pray for us in the road ahead as things will change for the coming months. We desire a chance to share Christ with others and to grow closer to each other and the Lord. We need that prayer for her continued healing and getting back to 100% as well.

I'm headed back to work tomorrow so that will be a change again, but good to make another step toward "normal". Thanks for all your love and concern, cards, gift cards, meals on the way, and prayers!

Enjoy this day that the Lord has made, may we rejoice and be glad in the lot He has chosen!
Lamar (Gracie too)

    Psalms, Incense, Praise
    ODB
    READ: Psalm 150
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. —Psalm 150:6 The well-known English preacher Charles H. Spurgeon (1834-1892) wrote something that would be good to remember at the start of each day: "Let your thoughts be psalms, your prayers incense, and your breath praise." Let's look at each of these phrases.
Let your thoughts be psalms. The 150 psalms have a variety of themes, including praise, God's character, and expressions of dependence on the Lord. Throughout the day we can turn our thoughts into psalms by meditating on God's holiness, His worthiness of our worship, and how much we need Him.

Let your prayers be incense. In the tabernacle of the Jews, incense was burned continually to offer a sweet savor to the Lord (Exodus 30:7-8). Our prayers are like incense to God (Psalm 141:2), bringing to His nostrils the pleasing scent of our adoration and need for Him.

Let your breath be praise. The book of Psalms concludes with the words, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6). Talking about God and offering Him words of praise should be as natural to us as breathing.

Keep the Lord in your thoughts, prayers, and speech today. — David C. Egner

    Worship, praise, and adoration
    All belong to Jesus' name;
    Freely give your heart's devotion,
    Constantly His love proclaim. —Anon.

A heart filled with praise brings pleasure to God.

  6. Dearest God and Heavenly Father, I express thanks and praise over your continued care of Gracie. Surely casting our care upon you has not gone unheard and your power is evidenced in the testimony this young couple. Jehovah Rapha, in Jesus name, I continue my prayer on Gracie's behalf with others as you work your work of healing body and mind and thank you for the lives that have been touched as we see and read of your faithfulness and compassions towards your children, Lamar and Grace. What wonder and awe of your works on their behalf. I give you thanks for this opportunity to see you, O God, doing what you say you can do because you are who you say you are...Jehovah Shalom, in Jesus name, continue to give them your peace as the move in and out of the trials that brings about your character in them as they trust and faithfully lay their lives down as living sacrifices called of them (as well as all believers) in the book of Romans. Thank you for Gracie's progress, O God, thank you...

  12. Lamar and Grace:
Doug and I have been following your updates and have been praying for you everyday. I want to say thank you for putting together a blog and informing us of details so we can pray for you. It is nice to know what is going on without having to ask and call. May God continue his "PLANS HE HAS FOR YOU". We trust that in the future we will be able to talk and see you soon. Gracie, May God give you the strenth and passion to fight through the pain and that time will heal. God is the great Healer! I really can't imagine the pain you are enduring. A simple burn hurts. My prayers are still with you as you return to "NORMAL" life. Reach out if you need anything-
Love In Christ, Doug and Lisa Doutrich
