Hey everyone,
Thanks so much for following this again. I was able to head up to Lancaster to church this morning for my sunday school class and that was a huge blessing to walk into support and prayer when getting there. It was a joy to be there for sure. Grace will be so excited to be back in the fellowship of others.
I went down with my dad today and we met Grace's mom and Emma there. It was a pretty good day actually which was really a blessing. Her weekend nurse was truly a treat and a great caretaker for Gracie. She was much more alert this afternoon and even sat up herself, which got her heart rate really high but that was ok, it was really good to see her moving around like that. She was smiling more though she was definitely dealing with discomfort in her mouth. Seems like she is healing up good, her arm is getting better so they actually had the bandage off of that.
We look forward to the sunshine coming in her window in the days to come and hopefully we can get better news each day.
Tomorrow is the next re-scope and check on her throat. Not sure what time that is yet but last time it was right before I got in there at 12:30. I'm still hoping whole-heartedly that everything is cleared up in her lungs and that they can take the tube out tomorrow!!! Thanks for your love and care, I'll keep you updated as I can.
Thanks for your posts and prayers it's such an encouragement to me to keep going. The tears were often this morning, but not at all this afternoon as it was really good to see Gracie stronger and moving around herself a little.
Love you all...for Christ alone is good!

Be still and know that he is God.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear it was a better day, and thankful that surgery went well yesterday. We are praying continuously, and have asked for prayer from the church we are attending -- Wesley Methodist in Quarryville. Thanks for keeping us so well informed of all of Grace's progress. We pray for total healing, and that ministering angels will take charge of all her dreams. Stay strong in the Lord. We have absolute confidence that you are being a witness for Him to all who come into contact with you. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, 16-18. We love you!!!! Aunt Jonna, Uncle Tim, Jonathan, Amanda and Kaitlin
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear some good news! We are praying for you & Grace many times a day! My daughter's class at West Fallowfield has been praying for her also. We continue to believe for her complete healing & God to grant you both His peace! Carolyn, Bryan Blank & family
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to hear that she was able to sit up. Continuing to pray that tomorrow will be the day that she will have the tube taken out, but as we know, God knows best!!
ReplyDelete2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Hi Lamar & Grace, So good to hear that Grace was able to sit up and it was good for you, Larmar, to get support from believers at your church. Praying the tube can be taken out tomorrow. We have been praying daily for you! Steve and Kris Holman
ReplyDeleteI don't know either of you, but we have several mutual friends, so I've been following this blog over the past week. I'm REALLY praying that the tube will come out tomorrow. I had complications from a tonsillectomy a few years back and that was awful... and Grace's condition is so much worse! I'll try to remember to pray tomorrow around lunchtime...

hey Lamar,
ReplyDeleteJust want you both to know that my whole family has been praying for you and Gracie. I can't imagine the range of emotions and feelings you have experienced in the last week or so, but God has been good and will continue to be. Its awful for things like this to happen but if anything it draws us all closer to our Lord and focuses our faith on Him. Looking forward to Gracie's recovery and hope she is home soon!
Love,
Sara Searles
Grace and Lamar,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that Grace is doing better and God is covering her with His hand of healing. Praying for strength and patience as you wait for God's perfect timing. How faithful is the God we serve! He is using your testimony in more ways than you know. Hold fast to the one who knows all.
Miss you both!
Meredith
Lamar,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you were able to go get recharged at church yesterday! God's plan for providing comfort and strength is a blessing. We are praying daily for you and Grace. It was great to hear surgery went well and that she was moving around a bit. I see Jogab everyday and the first thing she asks after our greeting is if I have heard from Xoja's husband. If I haven't been on line, I get on line and read what you have written.
Looking forward to hearing more about the sunshine/sonshine.
Love and Prayers,
Suellen Black, Jogab and the gang in The Gambia
Lamar & Grace ~ We are praying for you both as Grace continues to heal. Praying for patience for all and restoration to Grace's body. Praise God that you are both looking to Him! Your testimony is great and speaks volumes to so many people!

Praying they can take the tube out today and for continued healing for both of you!! Thanks for taking the time to do the updates for the rest of us. I'm sure you are exhausted at the end of each day, but we all appreciate knowing what is happening.
ReplyDeleteNumbers 6:24-26, " The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Lamar,
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you in church yesterday! I was thankful as I heard about the progress that has been made. But more importantly, it was a blessing to see how you are relying on the Lord for your strength! As great as it was to see you in church, it will be even a greater joy when you and Grace will be able to walk in together!

Grace & Lamar -
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for the words of David in Psalm 4:3 "But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him."
As I continue to pray for you both, I pray with the confidence that God hears and listens to my prayers and the awareness that HE is powerful and mighty and can answer all that we ask. I hope that you continue to find strength and rest in our Lord.
Drew VanCuran
Glad you guys had such an encouraging day as far as Grace's spirits and energy. :) I'm praying the tube will be out today!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks to Lamar for the outstanding job you have done with updates/ Grace is very blessed to have you. Thanks also for the reminder about the Steven Curtis Chapman song-I have played it and prayed it over and over for you today. Hang in there -He IS good!

Lamar,
ReplyDeleteJust reading your blog can cause one to feel helpless. Everyone reading your blog, and no one more than you and your family, would like to do something tangible to help you and Grace. It actually is a good test for all of us. We don't always feel that prayer is the tangible thing we would like to do. We'd like to do more. But prayer is the very thing we can do that is tangible. What greater thing could be done that to enter into the presence of Almighty God and plead for you and Grace. So, when we feel the most helpless (like now), we need (me more than anyone) to fall before the Helper. May God grant you strength and all of us (your family in Christ) the perseverance to go boldly before the throne.
Because Christ's Love Compels Me,
Pastor Eric & Amy
