Carry you to Jesus

Hey all...

Today was a hard day to be honest. Gracie was pretty calm all day except for at one part in the middle of the day when she tried to take the tube out herself and thankfully we were there to restrain her from ripping it out far and causing damage. That was hard for me to see even if she is calm 99% it's the 1% of fear/pain/discomfort on her face that rips my heart out. When mom and I left at 8:30 I turned back and she sat straight up and the nurse ran in to calm her down but we had to leave. We didn't get to touch base with a doctor either. So from what we know the plan is to check the wounds tomorrow and scope #5 will happen at some point. I'm hoping more with each one that they take the tube out. On a good note, everything else is great - she is healthy, good inputs/outputs, oxygen, heart rate, blood pressure...

Please keep carrying her to Jesus, those that know the Saviors cleansing blood. That Steven Curtis Chapman song came on this morning on the way into Crozer and that is all we can do right now.

Stand firm friends, cease not in praying.

Carry you to Jesus - Steven Curtis Chapman (and my thoughts too)
I will not pretend to feel the pain you’re going through
I know I cannot comprehend the hurt you’ve known
And I used to think it mattered if I understood
But now I just don’t know

Well, I’ll admit sometimes I still wish I knew what to say
And I keep looking for a way to fix it all
But we know we’re at the mercy of God’s higher ways
And our ways are so small

But I will carry you to Jesus
He is everything you need
I will carry you to Jesus on my knees

It’s such a privilege for me to give this gift to you
All I’d ever hope you’d give me in return
Is to know that you’ll be there to do the same for me
When the tables turn

And if you need to cry go on and I, I will cry along with you, yeah
I’ve given you what I have but still I know the best thing I can do
Is just pray for you

I’ll carry you
I’ll take you to Jesus on my knees

  1. Sweet Gracie, hang in there. I'm praying for your strength and endurance for even one more hour... and then another. You can do this! Praying for strength and that you can feel support and love of so many that are suffering with you in that room. We love you so much.

  2. Hi lamar,
As I am reading your updates, my tears, thoughts and prayers are with you. It is precious to hear how the Lord is giving you songs and passages of Scripture to meet you where you are. He is such a personal God Who holds all of our tears in a bottle as Psalm 56:8 says. I remember six years ago when our fourth son was born, my husband got sick and went down hill really fast. He had to have emergency open heart surgery and we were blessed to have him still with us. But during that time, the Lord was very specific with me, besides providing strength and peace, He gave me a verse in Psalm 73:25-26,28 that said
"Who have I in heaven but you and there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but you are the strength of my life and my portion forever. But for me it is good to be near God. I have made the God my refuge that I may tell of all your works." It is so hard to watch the one you love suffer, be scared and anxious, be confused and in pain. But after I read that portion of Scripture, I knew that God was right there with us, even with a physically failing heart, and would hold us up in ways we couldn't even begin to imagine. And He faithfully and unchangingly did over and over again. My prayers are for you both, may you sleep sweet in Jesus and have a blessed day tomorrow.

    With much love and prayers,

    Tried By Fire
    ODB
    READ: Psalm 66:1-12
You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. —Psalm 66:10 The main end of life is not to do but to become," F. B. Meyer said. And for this we are being prepared every day. As silver is refined by fire, the heart is often refined in the furnace of sadness. The psalmist said in his sorrow, "We went through fire" (Psalm 66:12).

The refining process may be very painful, but it will not destroy us, for the Refiner sits by the furnace tending the flame. He will not allow us to be tried beyond our endurance; it is for our good.

We may not understand why we have to endure such misery year after year. The ordeal seems endless and pointless. Our days are wasted, or so it appears. We feel as if we are doing nothing of lasting significance.

But God is doing what matters—we are being refined. He is placing us into a crucible in which we acquire patience, meekness, humility, compassion, and the other "quiet" virtues our souls naturally lack.

So don't be afraid and don't fret. Your present trial, as painful as it may be, has been screened through God's wisdom and love. The Refiner sits beside the crucible tempering the flames, monitoring the process, waiting patiently until His face is mirrored in the surface.
    — David H. Roper

"As thy day thy strength shall be!"
    This should be enough for thee;
He who knows thy frame will spare
Burdens more than thou canst bear. —Havergal

The fires of testing can produce a shining testimony.
